I set this up on my fathers Harmony Hub and Amazon Fire TV over Christmas. This golden nugget of advice right there literally kept me from returning the flirc and giving up on the issue altogether. Using the Flirc software, I programmed the remote for the Fire Tv profile. Turn the FireTV so the Flirc is facing to the front and presto the Harmony. That pretty much disables the USB port on your AFTV device. It turned out to be that I had debugging turned ON for the USB device on the AFTV.
